Built by a boater
I'm Herbert Pollard, and Tillerhouse is my shop. Boats are my passion. Some people unwind on the couch. I unwind with a hand on the tiller, the motor humming behind me and open water ahead.
Spend enough time on the water and you learn what matters most: the motor has to start, every single time. A dead engine far from the dock turns a great day into a long one. That idea is behind everything we do here.
Every motor goes through our shop first
Buying a motor online should not feel like a gamble. Before any motor leaves our shop in Brooklyn, our mechanics run a compression test, a leak-down test, a lower unit inspection and a test start on the stand. If it does not pass, it does not ship.
Then we stand behind it. Every new motor comes with our 12-month parts and labor warranty on top of the manufacturer's warranty. Repairs are done at our own shop, and we cover the shipping both ways.
